wow this is awesome! i've done similar designs but i didn't know there was a name for them.. O_o;; heheh anyways! i was just wondering where you buy brown pens? i've looked *EVERYWHERE* for them but i can't find any!

I got them from an art shop here in the UK. You can buy coloured pens seperately. I used fineliners in this, but am planning on trying a thicker nibbed pen too.

You could always just buy a pack of cheap felt tips and use the browns in there!

Mehndi is the indian name for designs drawn on the skin with henna and Mandalas are circular designs, originally used for meditation.

yay finally art from south asia. i have never seen Mehndi (henna) designs on deviantART so far.
the handmade paper and the colour is very middle-east style of work.
its beautiful.

pretty. the pen/paper combination really sets off the design very well too. i love the interplay between the symmetry/geometry and the irregular element from the freehand style. compelling!

i have a book of handmad paper, but its so cool the way it is i don't want to mess with it. this would fit in great inside of it though. looks like the henna stuff a bit.
